Nicholas Houle received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Michigan native relocated to Chicago in 2010, shortly after meeting the President of Index Futures Group, Howard Marella. Recognizing Nicholas’s potential, Howard took him under his wing and they have been working together since. Houle worked with the Index Futures Group beginning his career in a support role and worked his way through the ranks. As the firm grew, so did Nicholas’s presence within it. By the summer of 2010, he became a licensed broker and began to hone his newly found skills. In 2014, Nicholas became a Principal at Index Futures Group and also assumed the mantle of VP of Brokerage Operations. In the winter of 2016, Nicholas Houle was an integral piece assisting in the transition of Index Futures Group to Icon Alternatives. Houle assisted in overseeing the rebranding of the business and helped position the firm to carry out its vision of providing investors with true portfolio diversification while allowing traders access to the best tools available.
Nicholas Houle is registered with the National Futures Association and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as an Associated Person and Principal with Icon Alternatives. Nicholas Houle serves as a Principal and VP of Brokerage Operations with Icon Alternatives. In this role, Houle functions as the bridge between Icon Alternative’s brokers and the multiple FCMs (Financial Clearing Merchants) that the business works with regarding margins and risk, new accounts, account setup and platforms.
